I have been uncovering a ton of great teaching practices, techniques, and gadgets that I would like to implement in my classroom. I cannot do it all in one summer, so I have decided I need to have a professional to-do list somewhere where I will access it from year to year, crossing things off as I accomplish them. I know many of you have probably come across the same problem when you go to a workshop, take classes, etc. I sometimes go through old three-ring notebooks that have a ton of good ideas that I might have forgotten about. Anyone have similar problems, solutions thereto? Any Ideas?
HOLY COW--- This will be my to do list!!! DUH!

Jasper,
ReplyDeleteWhen you get a method that works..TELL ME! I teach so many different courses that it is rough remembering what tidbit I was that I want to incorporate. Often I will spend vacation time revamping a portion of a course....but the 'to do' list may have promise. I'd fear mine getting lengthy.
The problem for me is sorting through all the great ideas and finding ones that will work in my classroom and for my students. I generally try to tackle one or two problems each year and try to find a solution for them.
ReplyDeleteJasper, I'm not sure if this is the kind of thing you're looking for, but Eric send me this link at one point. It's an online "to-do list" tool, so you can access it from anywhere, and it's free to set one up. It's very popular and you can link it to your iPhone, iGoogle, email, etc.

Aside from this blog being my credit aquiring device for this class it will function as my to do list for next school year from this class... I think I will start one for my other classes I am taking this summer as well... stay tuned!
ReplyDeleteJasper,
ReplyDeleteI bit the bullet and paid(!) for a notebook program (NoteBook from Circus Ponies). I will need time to learn it, but Mac users don't have Microsoft's notes program. I can now make notebooks and paste in video, links, photos etc...Hopefully having paid for a new program will make me use it! (and help with my capstone project too)
